Street - Pottinger Street

Hi, everyone. Today I ‘m very delighted to introduce the Central and Western Heritage -
Pottinger Street. This is one of the key heritage in Hong Kong.

Look at the street, are you feeling that the floor is special than other street?
Well, let me introduce the street first.

It was originally located between Queen's Road Central and Hollywood Road. Owing to its steepness, stone slab were unevenly paved on it to facilitate walking and allow rainwater to flow down along either side. In 1858, the government named it "Pottinger Street" to commemorate the first governor of Hong Kong. But as the whole street is paved with slab of stone, the local Chinese call it "Stone Slab Street".

Otherwise, there are countless streets, selling clothing, groceries and other shops. I have gone the street over five times, because I think that the view is very interested. I highly suggest that if you free, you can go to site visit and taking photo.

Wish you like it!!!
